Cooperation

Part of our work is the cooperation with other EU funded projects. This explicitly asked by the European Commision. A list of topics and themes was compiled with overlaps and fields of synergy between the projects. Scientists from each group communicate, work together, try to find and exchange results, methods and solutions, join meetings of each others projects, write blog posts, newsletters, policy briefs and papers together. They build a strong community and join forces for answering the open questions in the field of freshwater research.

OpenNESS

OpenNESS aims to translate the concepts of Natural Capital (NC) and Ecosystem Services (ES) into operational frameworks that provide tested, practical and tailored solutions for integrating ES into land, water and urban management and decision-making. It examines how the concepts link to, and support, wider EU economic, social and environmental policy initiatives and scrutinizes the potential and limitations of the concepts of ES and NC.
